Valentine's Day was a good day, Piarincess and I decided on no gifts this year so the next best thing was to write her a letter and flowers of course (tear jerker). Aha! We had dinner at the Elephant Bar in Emeryville. It was a long wait but it was well worth it. Our waiter provided A+ service, and for some odd reason he thought we were 21 or over and recommended me to get an alchoholic beverage which I didn't get i.d'd for or anything (felt kinda old afterward). But me being me I said, "sure why not, i'll take it." A+ service, and A++ for the food. And I have to admit for our 3rd valentine's this one was by far the best one.
Fried Salmon Avacado Roll.
Pomegranate Margarita, Strawberry Lemonade, and Mango-Rasberry Swirl Smoothie.
I didn't expect to do much today, woke up, showered breakfast, the works. Thought about going to Berkeley to do a little shopping for Valentine's day but plans changed. Instead I chilled with Piarincess and the Gang (Ant, Chris, Jace, Frances, and Ricky.) Met up at In-N-out, grab a little bite to eat and took off to see "Friday the 13th." Pretty scary film, but I thought the acting was just horrendous. I did get spooked though so 8/10.

The much highly anticipated mixtape is now here. Aubrey Graham aka Drake's 4th mixtape "So Far Gone" has been released. If you've ever watched the show "Degrassi" on Noggin he is known for playing Jimmy Brooks (the guy in the wheelcahir). No further explanation needed, just download, and listen. *CLICK ON IMAGE TO DOWNLOAD!
Today we pay repsect to one of hip-hop's most influential and desired producer. James Dewitt Yancey better known as J Dilla or Jay Dee. From serving as a member of "A Tribe Called Quest" and "The Ummah," Jay Dilla became known as a major hip-hop prospect by the late 90s. His breakbeat-heavy hip-hop style/Neo Soul was heard on album's of artists such as Common, Erykah Badu, Q-Tip, and the debut of his own group Slum Village (Fan-tas-tic Vol. 1). He was also noted as being "your favorite producer's favorite producer," and was highly recognized by hip hop artists and producers such as Madlib, Pete Rock, Common, Busta Rhymes, Mos Def, Pharrell. He was diagnosed with kidney complications associated with lupus nephritis, Dilla continued making music at his usual non-stop pace, working both from his home studio and while hospitalized - from a portable sound system including turntables, samplers, and small boxes of vinyl. And although his life was cut short, his legacy still lives on.

Verb [intrans.] 1 (of a vehicle) slide uncontrollably on the wet surface of a road: a motorist whose car hydroplaned and crashed into a tree.
Yesterday I got into my car, plugged in my I-pod, fastened my seatbelt and I was off. I drive the I-880 South freeway almost everyday I go to school. When I exit “Alvarado Niles Road” there’s always this really sharp left turn you have to make. (If you’ve ever exited there then you know what I’m talking about.) Knowing it was raining, I came into this turn going about 20-25mph. I was halfway turned and all of a sudden I hear a big explosion and my car spun a 360 into the divider, with the front of my car facing towards traffic, and my car’s engine shutoff. Just couldn’t believe I hydroplaned. I was like “OH SHIT!” I sat there for a minute, just trying to catch my breath because I panicked, I’m not gonna lie, my hands were shaking a lot. I turned my car on, and drove to the side of the road where I also didn’t notice I ran a red light trying to get to there. A cop blurped me and I jumped out to check the side of my car, come to find out, my front right tire popped and the wheel behind it got pushed in. So the cop jumped out to tell me I ran a red light, and he said he was going to have to write me up. I flipped out and told him what just happened and he understood the situation and called Triple AAA for me. So I called my dad, and I just chilled in my car. Time being; in total four considerate people pulled over trying to help me out. Tow truck came, thought it was just a flat, changed my tire, and said I was good to go. That wasn’t the only problem, after he changed the front tire, and as I drove off the toe guy noticed my back wheel was all wobbly. He pulled me over and said the funniest thing “It looked like your cars’ wheel was shaking its ass from left to right” which cracked me up. My dad picked me up and we followed the tow truck, and the rest was paper work. Now at this point some people would say they almost died but it was more like I almost got hurt, big time, I came out of it with no scratches (thank god), and a person who’s experienced hydroplaning.
On another note around 6-7ish Frances, Anthony, Krystina, and Jace came to my house and we chit chatted for a little bit. Krystina took off around 8, we picked up Chris afterwards and then we headed of to see “Notorious.” Notorious (for all of those who don’t know) is a movie about one of the greatest MC’s of all time. Christopher Wallace aka Biggie Smalls aka The Notorious B.I.G “And if you don’t know, now you know *****.” (Juicy) The movie was a 9/10, only because I learned new things I didn’t know about him before, and the overall film was coo. It’s worth the $10.
P.S. I came home to my first Jury duty letter, which is kind of cool, but at the same pretty wack.
I also recieved my package today which was pretty sweet.
Yo! First timer, first blog. Hmm, before deciding I wanted to make a blog, my mind went through a stage in saying "what the f*ck would I blog about"? I figured it could be about ANYTHING, "duh" right? So bare with me as I try to assess this blog every now and then. You can expect new and old school music suggestions, pictures of random items I spend my money on, things of that sort. Let's start it off....
Today was a good day, first off Piarincess picked me up, did a meet up for my HUF hat, got my haircut, ate Mickey D's, went to Cal State East Bay for a workshop, chilled with the homies, went for a jog with Pia, and lastly home playing one of the most anticipated video games all year long SKATE 2. Shoutout to my homie Cedric over at Village Barber Shop. In my opinion the best barber I've ever went to for a "taper". Just for $14.
And oh! Bought my first Macbook, I've used other people's Macbooks, and I just grew onto them like crack. But thanks to my parents, they hooked me up with the extra $200 to get it!
